Ryan Steenberg, owner of 4 Performance in Rochester, NY (est. June 2010) serves as the premier indoor golf, sports performance, and health and wellness club in Western, NY. Steenberg’s path into sports performance and fitness began with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Ithaca College. Upon graduation Ryan was accepted into an exclusive internship experience with Mark Verstegen of Athlete’s Performance, now EXOS. There he observed and aided in the development of numerous athletes in the MLB, NHL, NFL, PGA and NBA. With new found experience and knowledge Steenberg’s methodologies melted into the business of Strength In Motion in Syracuse, NY. Steenberg’s management led to the construction of a second facility and a program that developed over 300-400 athletes per year. A move to Rochester found Steenberg opening his own facility and understanding that there was a gap present in the golf market in which his business model adopted the specialty. As it stands now 4 Performance develops high level aspiring junior collegiate athletes in all sports, as well as, the general health and wellness individual looking to improve one’s self image, lose weight, and activity levels.
Since its inception 4 Performance has aided in the development of a state champion and runner up, junior champions, sectional champions, and numerous NCAA Division 1, 2, 3 aspiring collegiate athletes. 4 Performance athletes have gone on to earn All-American honors, play in the US Open, be the youngest ever to qualify for the US Amateur two years running, and experience sport beyond college. Recently, Steenberg’s stable has expanded to host a number of PGA tour bound athletes as well. Most notable are Rochester’s own Dominic Bozzelli, Beau Hossler (Utexas 2015), and Gavin Hall (UTexas 2016).
Steenberg’s entrepreneurial spirit also guided him in developing his own swing training aid called the Twitch Trainer (www.twitchtrainer.com). Launched in 2016 to the golfing market the Twitch Trainer has had profound success in a short amount of time and is positioned to make a dent in the marketplace in 2016 in both the golf and baseball training markets.
Steenberg is a product of his own teaching in that he still competes at high level as a professional athlete in the sport of Long Drive. Most recently Steenberg placed 2nd in the world at the World Long Drive Championships hosted by the golf channel. With distances well over 400 yards and ball speeds faster than NASCAR Steenberg is positioned to be a favorite in the sport for a long time. Steenberg’s other notable other notable accomplishments include: 4-time world long drive finalist (2011, 2012, 2013, 2016), 16th place finish at the WLDC in 2012, Master’s Of Long Drive Champion (2013) presented by American Power Golf, 5th place finish Mile High Shootout (2011), T10 Tennessee Shootout (2013), 4th place finish at Bluff City Shootout (2016), T12 finish at Rockwell Blast (2016), T12 finish at Mile High Shootout (2016),
